Raymond Shainberg Award
In 2020, the Jewish Foundation of Memphis established the Raymond Shainberg Professional Advisor Award to mark its 25th anniversary year. This award is granted to a Professional Advisor who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, dedication and commitment to the Jewish Foundation of Memphis.
Raymond Shainberg, of blessed memory, was one of the founding leaders of the Jewish Foundation of Memphis. “Raymond was instrumental in creating our donor advised fund program, our legacy initiative and in helping professionalize the Foundation with the creation of the Professional Advisory Group. Due to his involvement, all our local Jewish institutions are benefitting and will continue to benefit for years to come. It is for this reason we created the award in his name,” said Laura Linder, President & CEO of Jewish Community Partners.
Marty Regan is the newest recipient of the Jewish Foundation of Memphis Raymond Shainberg Professional Advisor Award. Mr. Regan is an attorney with Lewis Thomason and serves as Senior Staff Attorney to the City of Memphis. He is General Counsel to the Southern College of Optometry, General Counsel and Planned Giving Director to Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, and Outside Counsel to UT Medical Group, Inc. (University Clinical Health). He is a Director of the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation, and Memphis Land Bank, Inc. He is also Director and Officer at Alliance Healthcare Services, Inc. and Alpha Omega Veterans Services, Inc. He is known as the Memphis non-profit expert and is actively involved in almost every major non-profit organization in the city.

“Incorporating charity as part of a client’s overall estate or financial plan is part of our role as professional advisors. It is gratifying to work with clients that are interested in philanthropy and help them to make a positive impact on organizations that are important to them.”
